Three young musicians and best friends, high school senior and university freshmen, Jesse Périard, and brothers Rowen Gallant and Caleb Gallant, hailing from the North Shore of Prince Edward Island are having the time of their lives immersed in the music they love and performing together as Ten Strings And A Goat Skin.

Building on a base of much loved traditional Maritime music with a good dose of originality, innovation and humour, the band grabs both French and English audiences right from the first note. They easily connect with their listeners while they create an atmosphere that is pure fun.

Milestones saw the group making waves on both English and Francophone venues at the 2011 and 2012 ECMAs and their début bilingual album, TRI, was awarded MUSIC PEI's 2012 Roots Traditional Recording of the Year and was nominated for the 2012 ECMA Roots Traditional Group Recording of the Year. Ever traveling further afield, the group was nominated for Music PEI's 2013 SpinCount Touring Artists of the Year.

Touted as "the busiest and hardest working band on PEI, ....playing seemingly everywhere...", the group now includes some of Maritime Canada's major folk music festivals on their resume, having performed at The Stan Rogers Folk Festival, The Halifax Urban Folk Festival and The Canadian Irish Festival as well as The Festival of Small Halls and numerous. local French & English music festivals and cultural events closer to home. They will perform at the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival and have been in invited to the Boston Irish Festival and in 2014, the largest music festival in the world, Summerfest USA.

Musical Influences include bands Solas, Kila, Vishten, Flook, LAU, songwriters Stan Rogers and Lennie Gallant.
